HOT GLASS COLD BEER
Saturday, September 25 • 6-10 pm
Featuring artist DAVID PATCHEN

San Francisco artist David Patchen will be September's featured artist at HOT GLASS COLD BEER, an evening of exciting glassblowing demonstrations benefiting Public Glass, San Franciscos Center for Glass Arts. For a donation of $25, guests can select a one-of-a-kind, handblown drinking glass and fill it with their choice of beer, wine or soft drinks while they watch master glass artists at work. Glasses available while supplies last so be sure to get there early!
Since his very first glassblowing class at Public Glass, David has studied under a wide range of talented local artists, as well as with Afro Celotto, maestro and former assistant to Lino Tagliapietra in Murano, Italy, and at the prestigious Pilchuck Glass School, founded by Dale Chihuly. In 2009, he was selected for an artist residency by the Seto City Art and Cultural Foundation in Seto City, Japan. His work, known for its complex patterns of cane and murrini and bold, eye-catching colors, is available at select galleries in the U.S., Canada and Europe, including locally at Gump's. In addition to demonstrations of his trademark techniques, a selection of David's work will be on display in the Gallery at Public Glass.
