Service Description

This 6 week course will cover how to add carved designs to your glass. Now that you have tried out each machine (in Level 1) this class will focus on the Sand blaster, Lathe, and Flex shaft in more depth. This class will cover how to use different dremel bits to produce different patterns and textures, how to use the wheels on the lathe to create the hammered copper look on glass (battuto), and how to layer sandblasted designs to create dimensional images. This course will start off with skill building projects and end with the option for a self directed project with the help of the instructor. The following class is Level 3 carving which will include basic engraving - geometric shapes, flowers, leaves, and traditional patterning. Please bring your Respirator with p100 particulate filters, wear closed-toed (possibly waterproof) shoes, clothing that is not loose or dangling, something to tie up long hair, and clothes that can get wet. A water bottle is recommended.
