LGBTQIA+ Hot Glass Lvl 2 Oct 24 - Nov 14
Prerequisite: Level 1 or equivalent experience
Service Description
4 week- level 2 condensed class Glass culture has historically lacked diversity, often feeling exclusive. At Public Glass, we're reshaping this narrative with our inclusive glassblowing classes, welcoming LGBTQIA+ individuals. Our aim? To foster community, skill development, and learning in a supportive, safe environment. We're breaking barriers to create collaborative learning experiences, where participants can embrace their identities, learn about glassblowing, and forge friendships. Led by LGBTQIA+ instructors, this class requires no prior experience and will teach all the same content as our Level 1 class. Continuing from Level 1 the focus of this four-week course is dexterity and proper usage of heat and tools. Students will learn how to use centrifugal force to make a bowl. Other skills will be taught along the way like trimming, papering(thats right newspaper!), and using parchoffis( fancy wooden sticks). Your vessel work will be greatly improved and you’ll be on your way to the upper level courses. Please wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothes. A water bottle is recommended. Interested in renting on your own? Take levels 1-4 and be able to rent your own hot shop slot!
